VINTAGE: ETTORE SOTTSASS

The Series 45 is one of the most complete and innovative office systems. The project, designed by Ettore Sottsass, was created with the aim of developing a universal dimensional framework for office products, represented by a structural grid capable of integrating electronic equipment. Although it wasn't successful with technology, the concept was successfully applied to office furniture by Olivetti Synthesis, a specialized division of the Olivetti Group.

The Series 45 includes over 100 components, such as tables, desks, chairs, filing cabinets, cupboards, and numerous accessories like the ashtray. Sottsass, in collaboration with Olivetti, aimed to combine space efficiency with a refined aesthetic, free of unnecessary decorations. The ashtray, like the other elements in the series, is part of a system designed to meet modern needs, offering a touch of discreet elegance and flawless functionality, capable of enhancing even contemporary workspaces.
